Job Description

The Media Manager is responsible for the Media strategy with the development, planning, and implementation of all media & digital communications for Cartier Korea. Ongoing responsibilities include building annual media strategy and planning, managing the media agency, maintaining budgets and billing, competitive analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is an advertising professional experienced in all media channels both online and offline. Media Manager will report directly to Communication Director and manage Digital Media Executive in the team.

 1. Media Strategy

  • Build annual media strategy and planning (Institutional and COOP), with innovation and strategic vision in accordance with Cartier Korea’s business objectives
  • Design yearly media briefing, planning mix and oversee implementation of the media strategy across all channels with a major focus on print, digital, social media, search and OOH in accordance to annual communication plan
  • Establish KPIs of the implemented actions and recommend corrective actions
  • Lead the media agency, enforce brand standard/safety and analyze performance of the campaigns
  • Provide strategic oversight of the media and advertising strategy in an ongoing effort to maximize the efficiency of media investments
  • Handle implementation in terms of budget allocation, media presence, traffic, quality control and consistency between local and international actions
  • Strong collaboration required with PR Manager to support qualitative press relation and coverage
  • Ensure the delivery of all material from the creative agency to media channels
  • Reinforce media relationship with genuine understanding for each other’s business context
  • Encourage media industry to respect more of the Maison’s value and brand equity

2. Digital Strategy

Digital & Social Media Strategy

  • Build the digital strategy across channels in conjunction with the overall media plan
  • Explore proactively new channels to enrich the Maison’s digital media territory
  • Create engaging mobile and cross-marketing initiatives to drive traffic to Cartier website and platforms
  • Develop the new digital channel and format to enhance brand/campaign awareness among new generation
  • Develop mix plans to optimize our social channels and leverage a targeted audience to push awareness, engagement and conversion
  • Identify best schedule, frequency, formats and media platforms to achieve relevant and highly engaging results for each campaign on display and social media channels
  • Coordinate the paid and organic digital programs calendar with HQ and local teams; Marketing, PR, Creative Contents, Culture and Corporate Communication, Event, CRM and Retail activities
  • Ensure that all digital media is optimized and tracked through URL’s for evaluation 
  • Leverage local constitutional digital platform to support engagement towards E-com business 

Search Engine Marketing:

  • Drive search strategy based on marketing/communication/E-commerce objectives to increase SEM 
  • Build search engine volume and efficiency forecasts, making recommendations on keywords selection, liaising with the HQ and local media agency 
  • Initiate tests (keywords bids, ad copy, landing pages) to improve key metrics (click, search, convert) in collaboration with media agency

3. Data / Analytics / Monitoring

  • Work closely with Digital Media Executive, to ensure accurate input of all campaigns activation on BumbleBee software
  • Evaluate media campaigns and activations from multiple data sources especially from Google Analytics, and draw clear conclusions and actionable recommendations

4. Agencies Management

  • Provide adequate and timely guidelines to ensure correct understanding of brand equity and strategy
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the working process and quality of deliverables (brief feedbacks, post-campaign analysis, competition analysis)
  • Ensure the optimization of media buying negotiations by the agency for Cartier
  • Evaluate the work of the Agency on a biannual basis

5. Media Budget

  • Maintain accurate spending forecasts and update as needed; manage all activity for budget tracking
  • Confirm proof-of-performance for all placements prior to invoice payment
  • Follow-up and control of budgets related to the marketing and communications activities (incl. monthly reporting) and communication financial procedures

6. Marketing Intelligence

  • Monitor the media marketplace to stay ahead of trends, identify opportunities and emerging issues, while understanding new technologies and consumer insights
  • Share inputs regarding media environment evolution especially digital transformation

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years work experience; media environment on client or agency side with good understanding of Korean luxury market
  • Solid media experience with an emphasis on print with digital knowledge 
  • Strong analytical and computer skills (Google Analytics, Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Fluent in both written & spoken English and Korean, French knowledge is a plus.  
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong analytical and visualization skills via presentations and reports, clearly communicating large amounts of information precisely and creatively
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously and under tight deadline
